MJI's Chairman, Hamish Davidson, brings an exceptional knowledge of the working of UK Government, political institutions, and public service providers, public, private and third sector.

MJI has developed a particular interest (in partnership with DLA Piper, a major international law firm, the Centre for Cities, and with Professor Janice Morphet) in looking at the role of City Regions in the UK.

Behind the headlines there is a raft of new legislation in England related to allocating £billions of public money across a range of hitherto separately funded activities into more collaborative, joined up delivery vehicles at City Region level. What is the future for these newly born Multi Area Agreements and how can they assist economic recovery? Likewise there is growing emphasis on Community Planning Partnerships in Scotland and major programme of reform in Wales and Northern Ireland.
