

Our CEO, Melvyn Ingleson, is particularly well known in Scotland, where he has lived for the last twenty years, building up an exceptional knowledge of the changing political landscape post devolution. He is still responsible for the day to day development of the firm, having founded MJI almost 20 years ago, and has a particular interest in maintaining relationships with all of the mainstream political parties in the UK and devolved Regions.

Expert facilitator, chair and frequent speaker on public policy issues, consumer and business to business research, reputation management, communications and public affairs advice, brand building in consumer and business to business markets in UK, Europe and USA, public policy expertise, particularly in Devolved Government policy, Regeneration and City Regions, Lifelong Learning & Skills, Efficient Government. He recently completed a qualification as a Team Coach and is engaged in assisting public and private organisations to develop high performing teams.
Experience
Melvyn has delivered a wide range of consulting interventions over the last twenty years after a period developing major, advertised consumer brands. Melvyn has built a particular reputation along with his MJI colleagues for facilitating effective working between public, private and third sectors, and between public sector organisations. He has developed a range of supporting tools including Strategic Dialogue as a means of ensuring structured interventions. He works closely with senior Scottish politicians of all parties, senior civil servants, local authority Chief Executives, private and third sector, passionate about improving Scotland's place in the world.
He has long been an adviser to many public sector organisations on senior management search & selection, and leadership development. He recently supported the appointment of a Director General Finance & Corporate Services for Scottish Government, is about to begin the search for a world class Project Director for the Forth Crossing and supported the appointment of a Vice Principal for a major Scottish University. He is a director of the Centre for Scottish Public Policy, Scotland's leading social democratic independent think tank, leading on Public Service Reform and “Smarter Scotland” and has been organising a series of cross sector debates with Scottish Cabinet members and at all of the Scottish party conferences.
